A blinding love to treasure
Every morning I see this elderly couple who walk in line up the steep side walk, that curves around the shopping center, through the tunnel bridge that drops you off at the entrance to the metro. This couple walk in line with matching blue L.L.Bean backpacks, and matching walking sticks, and matching dark sunglasses. This couple who walk in a line vaguely commenting on the weather, or the chirping...

My first time at the March for Life and my first video as director, editor, and producer!
Then there's my dad, so this will be the most sour
There are 5 Catholics standing about. The first boasts that since his son is a priest people call him “Father”. The second chimes in and says since his son is a bishop people call him “your Grace”. The third decides to one them up and says since his son is a cardinal people call him “your excellence”. The fourth perks up with a big grin and says that since his son is the pope people call him “your...

Red line conversations
“Oh dear DC is crowwded! Darlin’, I love the flower in your hair. We’re visiting from Georgia and are having the most interesting time getting around on this metro. Boy am I tired! We walked around all day!”
(I manage to interject a “thank you” for complimenting my flower headband.)

How 'bout them Apples? →
Apple introduced its new darling: the iPad. With video, music, and ebook capabilities, what other digital reader could anybody prefer? I’m clearly partial to the Apple world; I own a MacBook, an iPhone, and I’m on my third iPod. All I need in this digital life is Apple. Next on my list? Hopefully the iPad, and if Apple makes a TV, sign me up. Can you think of any other technology Apple...
"What could you live without?" NYTimes.com →
Sometimes too much is indeed too much. The Salwens elected to sell their luxury house for a more modest home and donate “the other half” of the money they saved to charity. Selflessness vs. selfishness. I have no idea what I could do without at this moment in time, but I’d sure like to find out because this family has gained exponentially in other invaluable areas like familial...

Change of pace: try 20 degrees different
Wake up this morning to a stuffy room and the steady pitter-patter of rain drops falling heavily on my window. Take a shower, piece together a press junket appropriate outfit, do my make up, blow dry my hair, grab a banana, and walk out the door expecting to take a second shower.
The rain is a slow drizzle and what’s this? I check the weather app on my darling iPhone and I have...

FreedomWorks Press Briefing with Tea Party Leaders (26 Jan. 2010)
It’s been nearly a year since the first grassroots uprising took place in sleepy Seattle, Washington, where approximately 120 protesters showed up to rally for their rights in what was to be the beginning of an impressive Tea Party movement.
Today, members of the press met with the Nation’s local tea party leaders at...

March For Life
Live your life. Live, laugh, love. Live your life.
The meaning of a culture of life was truly visible at the DC pro-life rally. I have never attended such a beautiful protest where men, women, and children of all ages joined together to promote the values of life.
Thousands of marchers, religious and lay, congregated on the Mall in the spirit of joyful prayer for the protection of the sanctity...
Holidays should fall on Fridays
With the Monday holiday and the MA election and the interviews and go, go, go work week I honestly got my days confused. I went for a run Monday around DC with a friend and then to lunch, which is an activity I usually would do on a Saturday while visiting my best friend in ATX, and I must have mentally jotted the outting down as “yay it’s still Saturday”.
Anyway I woke up...

Lengthy read
For an avid reader, Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights should be a quick read; probably no more than a couple of days to finish. Typically I consider myself to fall under that category, but to be completely honest, it took me nearly a year to finish. Yes: a long couple of months! Why is that? Slash, how is that? It was not my cup of tea, at all. Nope, it was too slow, dry, and dreary for me....

Dear POP folk,
It hasn’t been very long since we put the Christmas hymns aside for another year. Their challenge, as with all the gifts of Christmas, is to remember that the message of much of this great music is intended to instruct and form...
